Abstract

The article examines contemporary challenges in the formation of public spaces in Siberian cities. The study considers factors influencing the development of public spaces, including the specifics of regulatory frameworks, mechanisms of urban environment governance, and the implementation practices of urban improvement projects. Based on the analysis of urban environment assessment tools and studies of the development of Siberian cities, the research identifies the main constraints affecting the formation of public spaces, including the fragmentation of design solutions, inconsistencies between governance approaches and actual patterns of urban space use.
