Abstract
The article presents the results of interviewing practicing architects – leading experts in the field of designing transport interchange hubs (TIHs) in Siberia. Based on the interview material, the experts assess the problem of regional specifics of TIHs. The following are identified: the understanding of TIH among experts, the main groups of regional factors that, in the experts' opinion, influence the architectural and planning solution of TIHs, the relationship between the regulatory framework and personal experience in designing TIHs in Siberia. The methodology for analyzing the regional specifics of TIHs, which was proposed by the experts, is based on two main groups of regional factors: natural and climatic and socio-economic. This methodology has been finalized and applied by the author of the article to analyze TIHs in Western Siberia: in Omsk, Novosibirsk, Barnaul, Tomsk, Kemerovo, Novokuznetsk, Tyumen, KhantyMansiysk, and Nizhnevartovsk. The theoretical significance of the study is determined by the need for a comprehensive adaptation of the regulatory framework for TIHs design to the regional conditions of Western Siberia.
